Small SetupSmall Setup

Take DSA 2.9 with you wherever you go with a USB-powered single slot-chassis and NI’s 9234 or 9232 DSA module. We recommend the cDAQ-9171 single-slot USB chassis with the NI 9234 4-channel DSA module. The 9234 supports simultaneous sampling on four channels at up to 51.2 kHz and features 102 dB of dynamic range on a fixed +/-5V scale. Software-selectable AC/DC coupling and IEPE signal conditioning (0 or 2 mA) are also provided.

Medium SetupMedium Setup

For a larger and more diverse channel count, use the USB 9174 4-slot or the USB 9178 8-slot chassis with a variety of NI C-series modules. These can include dynamic and digital inputs, along with modules specialized for strain and general purpose analog voltage. We recommend the USB-9178 with one or more NI 9234 4-channel DSA modules accompanied by the NI 9411 digital module and the NI 9205 analog input module. These chassis feature four counters in the backplane that are reached via the 9411. Counters are used for highly accurate detection of RPM from a TTL pulse train and also allow for the computation of torsional velocity with sufficiently high pulses per revolution. The 9205 will permit up to 16 differential- or 32 single-ended channels to be collected at a separate sample rate from the DSA module.

Large SetupLarge Setup

For high channel count systems, NI's PXI or PXIe platform will provide exceptional scalability. The powerful embedded controller in a 4- or 8-slot chassis runs a Windows O/S and will accommodate dozens of channels alongside counter, strain and general-purpose analog input devices. We recommend the PXIe-8840 controller with a 500GB drive upgrade in the 8-slot PXIe-1082 chassis. Include one or more PXIe-4496 16-channel dynamic signal modules plus a PXIe-6612 counter for speed inputs in the form of a TTL pulse train. Round out the system with a PXI-6229 multifunction DAQ device for up to 3 general-purpose analog inputs per card.
