Product Spotlight: Trove

Trove Logo 2

You have invested lots of time and money in testing your product and creating reams of data about the process, the product and the machines that are used to test it. Trove is an integral part of making that data investment pay off by making the data useful. The first step in making data useful is making it accessible. The first step to making it accessible is to manage the constant data flow from test machines to a central database. Whether in laboratory automation or on the production floor, Trove is used to retrieve, archive and make available data from an automated data acquisition or test. Once it is available, Trove’s batch processing and trending can enable collaboration between engineers, managers and the quality team to explore and improve process and product alike.

Project Portfolio Spotlight: Large Engine Combustion Noise Separation

Project Portfolio Spotlight: Large Engine Combustion Noise Separation

Working for a large diesel engine manufacturer, Signal.X was asked to produce an estimate of combustion induced noise and vibration. The technique employed is based on the principals of multiple input-multiple output signal analysis and requires a large array based measurement of cylinder pressure, vibration and optionally, sound. Read the related SAE article by Signal.X… Continue Reading

Project Portfolio Spotlight: Driveshaft Durability Test System

Project Portfolio Spotlight: Driveshaft Durability Test System

A driveshaft durability test rig is re-controlled using a custom application designed and developed by Signal.X. The requirements called for a dedicated controller running a LabVIEW RT operating system and a supervising test executive to manage displays and test configurations. The application implemented real-time control over 3 axes of motion, fault protection and full flight… Continue Reading

Project Portfolio Spotlight: Bio-Refinery Controls System

Project Portfolio Spotlight: Bio-Refinery Controls System

Signal.X has developed a National Instruments-based control system using PXI and the RIO architecture for a demonstration refinery that converts biomass to diesel fuel. Two PXI controllers interface to 10 EtherCAT chassis, subsystem PCL’s, and networked sensors for a total of more than 3,000 points of I/O. Factors in the choice of controls system included… Continue Reading
